Memory Project participation process
Art teacher completes the registration form to reserve participation spots for student artists.
Art teacher selects a due date for the portraits which corresponds with our "delivery dates" to the orphanages (artists usually have at least three months to complete the portraits).
Art teacher submits payment for the student participation fees ($15 per student). If it is impossible for the teacher to submit payment "up front," she or he can submit a “Payment Promise” to send payment later
(Students are welcome to utilize our fundraising ideas to help raise this money).
We provide the teacher with a webpage link where she or he can download digital photos of children waiting for portraits. We also mail the teacher a welcome letter and a copy of the instructions.
The teacher and participating students create the portraits, working from the photos we have provided.
Once the portraits are finished, the teacher mails them to:
The Memory Project
4013 Hegg Avenue
Madison, WI 53716
We receive the portraits and contact the teacher to confirm their arrival.
We then arrange for the portraits to be delivered to the appropriate children, along with all of the other portraits for that particular location.
After the portraits are delivered, we send the teacher digital photos of the delivery, and also any drawings or letters that the children have made for the art students.
The teacher then shares those photos and drawings with her or his students, and the participation process is complete!
